I always find it interesting to see what people like to showcase as their background while doing Zoom interviews for news programs. There’s often a strategy involved to include some sort of art that makes a statement about the person being interviewed. I’ve seen all kinds of different things, but recently was the first time I had seen someone with a scoreboard hanging on their wall as wall art.
I think the fact that it’s a vintage scoreboard does indeed help with the appeal – in this case, it’s a “Fair Play” scoreboard that my research seems to indicate might be from the 1960s or 1970s. In all the years I’ve been interested or involved with art, I don’t think I’ve seen a scoreboard as art before, but it’s kind of a fun idea, especially if it still works! (this one appears to be off)
Note: I blurred out the person for the sake of privacy and retaining his anonymity – the point here is the scoreboard, not the guy.
